There are a couple factors to consider.
-Are you cleansing your lashes? Build up can occur due to dust, residue and make up. (Quality cleansers are available in the salon)
-Are you touching your eyes often? Oils from your fingers can compromise the adhesion of your lashes quicker.
-Are you applying mascara to your extensions? No make up should be applied to extensions as their ingredients will compromise the adhesion and cause the extensions to fall out much quicker.
-Lash Shedding (see question 3)
-Hormonal Changes such as pregnancy including post partum, breastfeading, change in contraception, hormone medication etc can all have an effect on your lash cycle, causing your lashes to fall our quicker or in some situations last longer then normal.
Lash shedding is part of the natural cycle of hair loss, re-growth, and regeneration. While it’s usually nothing to worry about, it can be quite annoying when you’re trying to keep your lashes flawless!
On average, every person loses one to five lashes per day, and each week you lose about 20% of your entire set of eyelashes. All the fallen lashes are immediately replaced by new “baby lashes” that have already started growing in their place, even before they were finally pushed out.
The growth cycle of one individual eye lash lasts anywhere between 60 to 90 days, depending on the person.
On top of that, lash shedding, just like all hair shedding, is seasonal. Generally, we lose most hair in the Spring and Autumn, and this is referred to as “seasonal molting”, or “the shedding season”.
If for any reason you are looking to have your lashed removed, we highly recommend having them professionally removed to ensure no damage occurs to your natural lashes!
Pulling and picking at your extensions can remove your natural lashes
The professional removal process using high grade serum costs just €10 and takes about 10 minutes.
Refills are typically recommended every 2-3 weeks, depending on lash growth. Anything over 3 weeks is considered a full set.
You have approximately 150 follicles in your upper lash line which grow and shed at different rates.
It is healthy and normal to lose between 1 and 5 natural lashes per day. If you are losing more than 5 extensions per day and/or the extensions are shedding excessively without being attached to the natural lash, let your lash technician know right away.
